The Data Observatory is a spatial data platform that enables users to augment their data with the latest and greatest in spatial data. With a catalog of thousands of spatial datasets from public and premium sources that have been vetted by CARTO's Data team, the Data Observatory provides a streamlined process to reduce the operational inefficiencies of discovering, licensing, and accessing spatial data.
In a context of growing concern about climate risk, many sectors require reliable climate data to assess their exposure to changing climate patterns. The ability to access fit-for-purpose science-based quality-controlled climate data allowing the exploration of change scenarios across multiple geographies is key for forward-looking physical risk assessment in a coherent manner across use cases. Additionally access to data in a standardized form means less time spent on processing and transforming and more time available for risk analysis.
