The Economist Climate Risk Virtual Week

On October 13th we will be live at The Economist Climate Risk Virtual Week: a comprehensive five-day online forum exploring the widespread implications of climate change across the global economy, politics, finance, supply chains, and markets. This event was particularly focused on understanding and leveraging climate data for informed decision-making across various sectors. Throughout the week, participants engaged in a series of discussions and presentations that emphasized the importance of climate data in financial planning and risk management, explored strategies for businesses to effectively disclose and navigate climate risk exposures, and highlighted the critical need for collaborative efforts between public and private entities to effectively address and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

A highlight of the event will be the 'Mad about Data' plenary panel on October 13th, which featured a notable lineup of leaders and experts, including the Deputy Director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Samantha Burgess, Laurent Dubus from Réseau de Transport d'Électricité, and Harilaos Loukos CEO of the climate data factory. These sessions aimed to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the current state of climate risks, practical approaches for integrating climate considerations into business and financial strategies, and an exploration of innovative solutions and partnerships to foster a more sustainable and resilient future. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and fostering discussions that underscore the urgent need for a cohesive and proactive approach to climate risk management across all sectors.
