On October 13th we will be live at The Economist Climate Risk Virtual Week: Measuring, managing and mitigating the threat from climate change. The five-day event focusses on the effects of climate change on the global economy, from a range of perspectives, from politics to finance and supply chains. How can Climate Change data be used for informed decision making ? What type of data are out there?

In a panel aptly called ‘Mad About Data’, Harilaos Loukos (the climate data factory) joins Samantha Burgess, PhD (Copernicus ECMWF) and Laurent DUBUS (Réseau de Transport d'Électricité) in a panel discussion to answer those questions.

On February 11th 2020, the climate data factory will attend the 6th International Conference on Climate Services in Pune (India).   The conference is organised by The Climate Services Partnership (CSP), a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration aimed at promoting resilience and advancing climate service capabilities worldwide. It is an informal, interdisciplinary network of climate information users, providers, donors and researchers who share an interest in climate services and are actively involved in the climate services community. The conferences series begun in 2011, with the CSP itself launched at the first ICCS in NY.

On April 2-3, 2019, the climate data factory will attend the Climate City Expo (#CCxBusiness) organized by The Collider in North Carolina, USA as a “leader in promoting climate tech and innovation by enhancing accessibility to climate data. We will explore solutions with business executives, entrepreneurs, climate scientists, and investors at the leading edge of climate resilience. At this event, Harilaos Loukos will participate to a session featuring Edward Karns (Chief Data Officer NOAA), Ana Pinheiro Privette (Senior Program Manager Amazon Sustainability), Vincent McDonald (Chief International Strategy Officer AccuWeather) and Rei Goffer (Chief Strategy Officer ClimaCell).

On March 24 - 26, the climate data factory is proud to sponsor the 3rd Agriculture and Climate Change Conference in Budapest (Hungary). This international conference will focus on the likely impact of climate change on crop production and explore approaches to maintain and increase crop productivity into the future. Topics will address modelling climate change and its application to agriculture, climate change and increased agricultural uncertainty or food security in developing countries.
